For Lifelong Learning
Musicbrick.com is proud to be invited to partner ‘The
University of Liverpool Creative Writing Society for Lifelong Learning’. I’m
asking all members and visitors of Musicbrick.com to consider taking an active
part in supporting this prestigious competition in aid of Macmillan CancerSupport. We have some incredible storytellers amongst us, so come on,
enter your music memories, experiences and stories and let’s see how
we fare.
‘The 3rd Annual Ted Walters International Short Story and
Poetry Competition 2009’ which is now in its third year, is continuing
to attract writers from all around the world. In 2008, Liverpool’s
very proud year as ‘The European Capital of Culture for 2008’,
writers from as far as America, Australia, Guatemala, France, Spain, Sweden,
Finland, Germany, Romania, Indonesia, Republic of Ireland and the U.K. all
competed for the first place prizes in both the Short Story and the Poetry
sections of this competition.
‘The University of Liverpool Creative Writing Society for Lifelong
Learning’, is known in and around the North West as one of the most
prolific and successful writing groups on Merseyside. The group set up this
creative writing competition in memory of one of their best loved, extraordinary
writers; Ted Walters, who was a long serving member of the writing group;
Ted sadly died of Cancer at the age of 55 on the 15th August 2006.latest-news
Competition Prizes
£200 First Prize for both the short story and poetry categories; £50
each for the Runners up in each category, and a £10 Book token for two
third placed winners.
The Entry fee for the competition is £3.00 per poem or short story, and £2.50
for every subsequent entry. £1.00 will be donated to Macmillan
Cancer Support.
We feel that everyone has a story to tell or a poem to share, please give
this worthy competition your full support whether you are new to writing
or an experienced writer; remember originality is always a favorite in writing
competitions.
