About Me...

Crikey... where do I start? Well, obviously massively into my music - that goes without saying otherwise I wouldn't be here now. Lost count of the songs I've heard or the music I adore... I could sit here for hours and hours, but I've got to go to bed soon. Suffice to say that music has made, framed and governed my life ever since I can remember, could quite easily cost me a relationship if I continue to express my disgust at everything I loathe (which seems to be everything my girlfriend likes), and still harbour ambitions of being a musician despite having little talent, little patience and little time to create something. Nonetheless, I firmly believe EVERYONE has at least one Top 40 hit in them, regardless of songwriting proficiency, and these vignettes should be encouraged out. Plus a song is a much better epitaph than "with love from the wife and kids"...

Music Tastes...

Folk, pretty much anything from Jamaica, indie-pop, 70's style punk/pub rock, sleazy funk, French chanteuses, anything remotely twee, girl groups, weird electronica or a hybrid of any or all of the above. Just so long as virtually no-one else likes or has heard of it I'm happy. If you can buy it in the supermarket, I don't normally want to know...

First ever record/cd you remember listening to...

"Uptown Girl" - Billy Joel. In the car on the way to Cornwall when I was about 6 or 7

First ever record/cd you remember buying...

Would have been Go West's "We Close Our Eyes" (1985 I think). First album was the Top Gun soundtrack, first CD New Order's Substance box set (seriously... I would have been about 11 or 12... and of the above the only one I still own)

Best live performance you’ve seen...

Spiritualized @ The Royal Albert Hall, Joanna Newsom @ The Royal Albert Hall, The Pipettes @ Shepherd's Bush Empire, Oasis/Ride/The La's @ Brighton Centre

Favourite radio stations...

None - all shit

Favourite music magazines and papers...

None - all shit (used to read Mojo but got fed up... Jon Savage was the only reason to read it)

Worst song ever...

Pretty much anything on my girlfriend's iPod (apart from the stuff I've lent her!!)
