About Me...
Will be 60 later this year, I've been anxious to reach this age for a while, to the extent that a couple of years ago I was on holiday with my eldest son in Venice.
I had always swore I would never fly but after surviving a heart attack I allowed myself to be talked into going to Venice with my son, we were in a bar on the first evening there, I was toasting lots of things to my son, in the euphoria of actually having arrived abroad.
I then remarked of my joy at reaching 60 the following year when my son reminded me that as I was born in 1948 I would only be 59 the following year.
Damn.
So I can now say that I SHALL BE 60 LATER THIS YEAR, ruba doo!
I listen to lots of music, don't like the stuff that they play on uk radio stations, love things like Half Man Half Biscuit, Joanna Newsom, Frank Chickens, The Fall, Dylan (earlier stuff), Leonard Cohen (earlier stuff). and lots of the weirder stuff.
Follow a football team called Sheffield Wednesday.
Spent around 5 years in the Merchant Navy, that's the one that carries cargo and passengers and not the one that shoots at people, that was back in the late 60's, I was in catering, and can, and do still knock up a good meal.
